Meritage Energy Company, LLC ("Meritage") is an oil & gas acquisition and exploitation company, formed in July of 2006 by Samuel D. Winegrad, Thomas J. Corley other institutional and individual investors. Messrs. Winegrad and Corley each have over thirty years of oil & gas experience with both private and public concerns and in senior executive capacities  (see Partners).

Meritage was formed for the purpose of acquiring and developing stable, long life oil & gas producing properties and undeveloped leaseholds, enhancing their value through implementation of cost efficiencies and the application of new and existing technologies, exploiting previously unrealized value.  Upon attaining critical mass, these assets will be divested.
